I'm offering everyone a choice of one of these because I figured people typically decorate in either softer or brighter colors for the holidays.  This way, each attendee can decide which sign will fit in better with their decor.

Button, button, who's got the button?

Hey friends!  I've got the button...actually I've got a whole row of them.  Here's the last card from this week's Big Shot class (click image to view full size):

Supplies: Stamps - Flight of the Butterfly; Ink - Rich Razzleberry; Paper - Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White Note Card, Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper; Accessories - Big Shot, Buttons #5 Sizzlit die

This card is the perfect way to use up some of your scraps of cardstock.  You know we all have them lying around - thinking we'll use them some day.  Well today is your day!  The Sizzlit dies are 2-1/4" x 2-1/2" - the perfect size for little scraps of cardstock or designer paper.  The Buttons #5 Sizzlit cuts out 4 different buttons with one pass through your Big Shot.  You could even take some otherwise unproductive time (watching your favorite TV show or waiting for your kids to be done with practice) and whip a bunch of scraps through your Big Shot.  You'd have a variety of buttons in different sizes and colors ready to use on your next project.

Also adding to the quick and easy nature of this card is Stampin' Up's Note Cards.  These beauties come in a pack of 20 note cards with envelopes in our smooth Whisper White cardstock.  They're already cut and scored for you - just stamp on them or attach some embellishments and you've got a quick greeting or gift enclosure.  They measure 5" x 3-1/2" when folded and can be sent through the mail.

Look at the birdie

Hey friends!  I've got a pretty little Christmas card to show you today.  This is one of the cards we made at Big Shot class this week (click image to view full size):

Supplies: Paper - Whisper White, Garden Green, Real Red, Handsome Hunter; Accessories - Big Shot, Stampin' Up Backgrounds I texturz plates (damask), Birds & Blooms Sizzlits set, Stampin Dimensional, 1" Circle punch

I CASEd this card almost identically, and when I do that I usually write the person and/or blog address on a sticky note and put it right on the card.  I either didn't do that this time or it fell off, because I cannot find a name to credit with this design!  If this is your design, please leave me a comment so I can give you credit.

You may have noticed that my projects this week haven't listed any stamps in the supply lists.  Weird, huh?  And this one doesn't even have any ink!  That just goes to show you that you can do amazing things with the Big Shot and just a little cardstock.

One other thing you will notice if you read the supply list - I've listed the 1" Circle punch, but you probably can't tell where I used it.  Sneaky little me - I punched a 1" circle out of the sticky part of a sticky note to use as a temporary guide for my wreath placement.  I simply centered the sticky circle and adhered my flowers right around it.  Then I removed the sticky circle to reveal a perfectly circular wreath!

I love this little bird die cut, with his 3D wings.  Last year, I cut a bunch of them out of various designer papers and hung them from my daughter's ceiling for her birthday.  The day had snuck up on me, and I hadn't done anything special.  So while she was at school, I whipped up a flock of happy birthday birds for her.

Top Note Pumpkin

Hey friends!  Look at that - two days in a row!

So continuing with my reveal of our Big Shot class projects, here is the pumpkin box made with the Big Shot and Top Note die (click image to view full size):

This was originally the fourth project for our class, but since we rescheduled until after Halloween, I decided to switch to the Pilgrim box I showed you yesterday.  This could still be used for Thanksgiving - since there's no Jack-o-lantern face - and since I had the pieces all cut out, I made them up for the attendees anyway.  I know, I know...I'm too kind. :::sigh::: Yes, it's a gift...and a curse.

This fabulous pumpkin was CASEd (copy-and-share-everything) from Lyssa Zwolanek's blog (Song of My Heart Stampers).  I saw it on her blog and just had to give it a try.  I'm really happy with how it turned out.

It's been awhile...

Hey friends...(she says sheepishly) -

So...guess you're wondering where I've been.  Or maybe you're not...maybe you didn't miss me as much as I like to think you did.

 

So just what's been going on?  Well, mostly life.  Lots of silly reasons for me not to have posted sooner - busy, travel, sickness.  But mostly - my mojo just got up and left me.  But never fear!  I have returned and plan on giving you lots of inspiration for the holiday season!

And no, it's not a leprechaun as my son asked!  Sheez!  It's a Pilgrim, of course.  My October Big Shot Class was rescheduled due to illness among my customers and their assorted children.  We gathered last night to make this Pilgrim Top Note box, plus the Turkey Top Note box, and two other cards.  (I showed you the cards in a group picture earlier, but I'll show you them individually this week.)

October Big Shot Class Projects

Hey friends!  So I've been busy getting the rest of the projects ready for tomorrow night's Big Shot Class.  You saw the Top Note Turkey last week, and here are the other three projects (click on image to view full size):

I'll show you individual pictures of these over the next few days and list the supplies then.  The pumpkin is another box - like the turkey and the frankenstein boxes.  Too fun & too easy with the Big Shot!

"Parisian" Birthday card

Hey friends!  Well, my dear daughter called yesterday to thank me for her birthday card, which means I can show it to you. (click on the image to view full size)

 

Supplies: Stamps - Fresh Cuts; Ink - Versamark, Pretty in Pink; Paper - Whisper White, Basic Gray, Basic Black, Glossy White; Accessories - Big Shot, Stampin' Up Backgrounds I Texturz Plates, Scallop Edge punch, 5/8" White Satin ribbon, Black Embossing Powder, Stampin' Sponge, Stampin' Dimensionals

I think it looks Parisian, and Kylie's favorite color is pink, so I thought it'd be perfect for her.  She agreed!  I embossed the Fresh Cuts image in black on Glossy White cardstock, then sponged Pretty In Pink ink over the entire piece.  I tried embossing the image on Pretty In Pink cardstock, but the embossing didn't come out as "liquid looking" as I wanted so this was a better option.

The other thing you may notice is the "awning" at the top.  How did I get it striped?  Well, I cut sticky notes the width of the scallops and masked off every other one.  Then I sponged the Pretty In Pink ink over the exposed areas of the Whisper White cardstock (after punching with the Scallop Edge punch).  I love the result.  I put adhesive along the straight top of the piece and Stampin' Dimensionals on the scalloped edge to make it stand out like an awning.

A quick zip through my Big Shot with the exclusive Stampin' Up Backgrounds I Texturz plate (small dots) gave the Basic Gray layer some pizzazz.  And the Whisper White ribbon is tied on top of the Basic Black layer underneath the focal image for a little different twist.

This weekend I'll be putting the finishing touches on projects for Tuesday's Big Shot class, and hopefully I'll get some time with My Digital Studio.  So I should have some things to show you.

Top Note Turkey

Hello friends!  I apologize for leaving you "uninspired" this past weekend.  Our daughter, Kylie, was home from college for a little birthday celebration, so between Stamp Class Friday night and spending time together the rest of the weekend, time just flew!  Today is her actual birthday - 19!  How did that happen?  She's a fabulous girl/woman, and we are very proud of her.  Miss her already, of course.

But I think you'll be happy to know that I have found a turkey made from our Top Note die for the Big Shot!  Here's the little cutie (click any image to view full size):

My first digital project!

Yes, I got to play with my new "toy" last night!  After loading My Digital Studio on my computer, I immediately went searching for the CD that had pictures from my husband & son's trip to Florida last year.  My husband, Russ, had asked me if I could make a scrapbook of their trip, so I knew this would be the first project I'd start when I got this software.  Here is one page: (click to view full size)

I used one of the templates that came with the software to start this book.  The pages are actually all greens and oranges and reds when I chose them, but it was easy to change everything to what I wanted.  (Next time I'll remember to save a copy of the template before changes, so you can see what I did.)

You may notice that I put a drop shadow "under" the photo and the Enjoy circle, making them look more 3 dimensional.  And I added a distressed paper "over" my main cardstock layers to make it seem kind of sandy.

There will be journaling on this page before everything's finished.  I told Russ that he & Cooper would have to add all the stories, since they were there.  It will be a great keepsake to have from a great trip that they both still talk about all the time.

Triangle Holiday Card

Hey friends!  Did you miss me?  Yep, I know I've been gone for a few days.  Sorry about that.  One reason is that I had a few unfinished projects that were waiting final pieces that came in my order today!  So now I can show you the last project we'll be making at class this Friday.  Want to come?  There are still a couple of spots available - call or email me today to reserve your space!  Here's the final project: (click to view full size)

Supplies: Paper - Real Red, Garden Green, Very Vanilla, Merry Moments Designer Series Paper; Accessories - Big Shot, Little Leaves sizzlit die, 5 Petal Flower punch, Slit punch, Soft Subtles brads, Paper Piercing tool, Mat Pack

 Isn't this fun?!  These would make great decorations around the house or on your holiday table.  You could even create little "name plates" to mark place settings.  But there's another fun surprise to them - they fold flat and can fit in a standard card envelope - look!

How great is that little trick?  These are easily adaptable to any occasion/season - just switch out the papers.  You can add a greeting to the front panel instead of the poinsettia.  You could even string a cord through the "peak" and use them as ornaments!

Along with the Merry Moments paper in my order, the My Digital Studio software arrived today!  You probably won't believe it, but I haven't had a chance to load it into my computer yet.  It's killing me!  But I've been on the hunt for a full-time job, so that has occupied most of my day today.  I'll load that software tonight and I'll be sharing some fun things over the next few days...and beyond, I'm sure.
